Top 3 Reasons to Join the MassRoots Community
April 17th, 2015, @Sparkitland and I were tuning in Erin Burnett Outfront when a two and half minute segment ran on MassRoots, one of the largest and most active social networks for the cannabis community. The segment was entitled “New app is like Facebook for Pot Lovers.” (source: CNN). MassRoots ($MSRT) is one of the largest and most active communities of cannabis consumers with over 275,000 users. People use the app to find smoking buddies, share their cannabis experiences and stay connected with local dispensaries.
As a social media user and supporter of the cannabis movement, it only seemed logical to download the app and explore being part of this growing community.
As you would expect- when you join #MassRoots your feed will be filled with pictures and images of different types of weed, joints, cannabis plants, smoking devices, munchies, and more. But what I found interesting was that I personally could take this social network beyond the smoke and toke. I see an opportunity to be on a social network where I can be who I am through and through. I am an intelligent person, who works hard, and is driven both professionally and personally. I have a family, I love to travel, and I am a productive member of society (who also happens to enjoy smoking pot). I am tired of living in a closet because society believes smoking pot is the action of someone who is lazy, unmotivated, and dysfunctional. Weed is not a dirty word, it’s my outlet and my glass of wine at the end of the day. It helps me with my medical aliments: my back pain, migraines, and my stress. I am successful and good person... and I am excited that @MassRoots has created a community where I can be exactly who I am, without shame.
Here are my Top 3 Reasons to Join the MassRoots Community:
- MassRoots Blog: MassRoots Blog offers a variety of topics appealing to all aspects of the #SparkitLifestyle. They have articles on Health, Art, Culture, Grow, Legalize, Industry etc. Their dedication to encompassing all aspects of what it means to be part of the cannabis community is demonstrated in the content they generate.
- MassRoots Vision: The #MassRoots app functions similar to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter . While the product is not perfect: limited ability to share content, glitches on posting, commenting and likes. I see the vision of where MassRoots is moving. There is a community of people hidden away. MassRoots offers a platform to bring people out of the shadows and come together to support a movement that is much greater than the individual.
- MassRoots Opportunity: As mentioned above I see this social platform as a network to be who I am- as an entire person. You and I both know if I was sharing a photo and tagging it #WakeNBake or #PuffPuffPainGone on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram more than half my network would be shocked, offended, or look at me in a different light. #MassRoots offers a place where I can generate, share, and interact with content in a judgment free zone. It offers a community where I can be @SenoritaSparkit and myself without fear or judgment or being mislabeled.
